We are so thrilled to be the architect and design firm collaborating with TimeOut on this incredible, high-profile project in our hometown of Chicago, Illinois!
As a restaurant trend that continues to expand across the globe, food halls provide a diverse and multi-generational experience for the growing 'foodie culture.' The publisher of Time Out entertainment magazines plans to open one of the largest food halls in Chicago in 2019, in the Fulton Market district that’s already a destination for foodies.
Time Out Market Chicago is planned for a three-level, nearly 50,000-square-foot building. It will include 600 seats, and The Chicago magazine’s editorial staff will curate 16 food stations from local vendors. The market also will include three bars, a demonstration kitchen, retail and local art.
“The strength of the Time Out brand in Chicago combined with the city’s fantastic food and culture scene make this a great location for a new Time Out Market …” Time Out Group CEO Julio Bruno said in the news release.
Chipman Design participated in the panel, "Creating Experiential Spaces with Virtual Reality".
Lauren focused on sharing with the audience how virtual reality was instrumental in the planning and designing of the Manhattan ULTA Beauty flagship location. Uses included proactively troubleshooting specific challenges with VR goggles used by contractors on the job site, which proved to be an effective measure to save costs and time on the build out and ensured everyone involved in the project was on the same page. Her takeaway was how virtual reality can be used at the construction phases of a project to create an optimal outcome.
Thank you so much to Architectural Systems, Inc. for hosting the incredible Virtual Reality and the Retail Experience panel discussion this past week in New York! CEO, Lauren Chipman, had a great time presenting how Chipman Design approaches VR throughout all phases of the project.
